I love antiques shops, specially those packed with things of all ages which sometimes are only old fashioned things covered with dust and cobwebs.
However , there are other type of antiques shops with less objects but more selected, where everything is perfectly restored.

The scene that I bring you today is one of those posh shops where we feel like in a museum or at least the prices indicate that..
To realize I used two boards MDF floor and backsplash.

First I made the facade, with foam board 1 cm thick. I cut the door and window opening with a cutter and I covered it with balsa wood of different thicknesses.

In the same way I made the door, and put strips of linen cloth to make the hinges.

With sawdust putty I covered some imperfections, and painted the facade.

I put the door in its place with the strips of linen glued to the wall. Then I covered the surface with balsa wood too, but this time with a more structural and rustic design. I painted in white and I aged inside lightly with wax and a pinch of bitumen.

Outside, I aged the facade with wax and eyeshadow in some areas.

Then I made the pavement with crack filler putty and a template. I applied plastic varnish and painted with earthy colours and a sponge. I like to use makeup sponges because they have tiny pores so they distribute the acrylic paint very well.

I put the wallpaper before assembling the boards, for more comfort. If you like the paper, you can download here.

Then, I covered the inside with wood slats painted white. I also put the sides of the facade made with foam board and wood following the design of the facade.

With foam board I made the structure of inside, behind the shop window and I covered it with wood and painted white.

I searched a photograph of an interior that would give visual depth to the scene and placed it behind the frame of an arc.

The embellishments are made of brass and I gilded with patina wax for furniture.

The transfer letters are a bit disuse due new tecnoligies but you can ask at any stationery shop.

I made a structure to hide the battery and switch in the ceiling structure to save.

I made the lamp with a glass dome, golden and fine wire from a bottle of wine, golden foil from a can, some chains and paper flowers.

Now the details. I covered the wall behind the facade with lots of cameos, some of them are jewelry items, others are copies made of resin glass to look like carved glass.

The other objects in the window, as the trumeau mirror or the old and rusty mirror, the bust and the watch of Phoenix Miniatures, the glass recipient for sweets, etc, give character to this elegant and chic antiques shop.

Un abrazo.
Hugs
